Nova Launcher would appear to be everyone's favourite home screen application for Android devices. With its customisability, you can make it everything that you want, and remove everything that you don't. If you want the Pixel Launcher with custom icon packs, you can do that. If you want a Google Now page without the pill widget, you can do that. Nova Launcher 5.4.1 is here, and with it comes even more changes which its users will love. If you don't know what Nova Launcher is, you're missing out. You at least owe it to yourself to give it a try.

The first change is simply a stylistic one. There is a new app search animation, which moves from the bottom of the screen up. A gif was posted of the new animation by Kevin Barry, founder of Tesla Coil software and Nova Launcher. You can see that on the Google+ page linked at the bottom of this article!
The new Sesame Shortcuts also was released for the stable version! A feature in the beta for a while now, Sesame Shortcuts runs as an accessibility service, learning your tendencies within apps and allowing you to long-press on applications to view more options than normal. For example, your most visited sites in Google Chrome will show up if you hold down on Google Chrome when this app is enabled. Sesame Shortcuts has a lot of potential to let you do things a lot more efficiently.

Then there are the various other minor additions and changes to Nova Launcher 5.4.1. The navigation bar can now be disabled on the Samsung Galaxy S8 from the "Look & Feel" section of the Nova Launcher settings. The search bar's style has also been updated slightly, along with some Android Oreo specific improvements and some bug fixes and optimisations.
Go check out Nova Launcher if you haven't already, try it as a replacement for your stock browser and see what you think. There are many different launchers out there, such as Smart Launcher and Evie too. There's a whole world of them out there, go out and try them!
