As soon as the enterprising XDA community figured out a way to get Substratum themes on Samsung devices, it blew open the doors for truly customizable home screens, lock screens, and menus. XDA Senior Member OhayouBaka wasted no time releasing a theme for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ that turns the lock screen transparent, and it's truly a sight to behold. Better yet? It's open source, and works on any Samsung smartphone running Android 7.0/7.1.1 Nougat and 8.0 Oreo.
To get it up and running on your device, you'll need to (1) install Substratum or (2) download the paid Sungstratum app (if you're on Nougat). The developer says that Oreo users can use Andromeda or Substratum with root access, but that they should do so at their own risk.
If none of that intimidates you, check out the source link for a full list of instructions.
