Join Update Adds Themes, Multi-SIM Support, Stored Pushes and More

Transferring content from one device to another used to be a pain, and if you're anything like us, you usually just gave up and emailed yourself an attachment. But in recent years, services like Join have made file transfers more convenient than wired connections, and they're only getting better with time. Case in point: Join just announced an update that adds support for custom themes, multi-SIM setups, stored pushes to offline Chrome devices, and more.

The new Join's highlight is arguably its theming engine. Theming systems like Substratum let you customize apps' aesthetics, but require developers to explicitly support them. The application's developer, joaomgcd, went a different route: He added a custom in-app color scheme generator. Once you choose between a light, dark, or black style, you get to choose from a number of different accent colors. Literally hundreds of different combinations are at your disposal.

Another new feature is support for multi-SIM devices. On devices running Android 5.1 Lollipop or higher, you can select which SIM you want to use when sending SMS or MMS messages with Join.

Last but not least, Join can now store pushes for Chrome devices that are offline. When you send a push to a Chrome device that is currently not connected to the internet, the application will store it until it detects that the device has come online. When that happens, the push will go through and launch in the Chrome browser.

Join's update includes plenty of bug fixes, too. Even if you don't use any of the new features, you can expect a smoother, more stable experience file-sharing experience.
