It's no mystery that the OnePlus 6 is coming soon. OnePlus has been teasing the device by slowly revealing details. We've also seen plenty of leaked images and rumored specs. One thing we haven't heard much about is launch dates. Today, OnePlus finally announced details for the official launch event.
OnePlus will officially take the wraps off the OnePlus 6 at an event in London on May 16th. For those that won't be in attendance, OnePlus will be live streaming the event online. The event will kick off at 12:00 PM Eastern. OnePlus released a little teaser video to go along with the event announcement. The video simply says "A phone that turns fast into FAST." So it's safe to say performance will be an emphasis.
OnePlus will be holding a separate launch event in Mumbai on May 17th. As previously reported, the OnePlus 6 will be available in India through Amazon.in. The Amazon listing is already up and early access for Prime members begins on May 21st. We still don't know pricing for any of the available markets.
To recap what we know, the OnePlus 6 will have a glass back, display notch, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, Snapdragon 845 processor, dual cameras, headphone jack, and fingerprint sensor. OnePlus is taking a premium approach to this version. It will be interesting to see how that translates into sales. OnePlus fans are very passionate about specs, but OnePlus is trying to do something more with the 6. Are you excited about this phone?
