Samsung just sent out the press invite for the Samsung Unpacked event for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The invite was sent out earlier today along with teasing an upgrade to the S-Pen. The Note 9 will now officially be announced on August 9th in New York.
The Note 9 just went through the FCC a few days ago confirming the LTE Bands. These are the same as the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The Galaxy Note 9 may also launch with a new battery. There are rumors that the Note 9 will have a 4000 mah battery, an upgrade over the 3300 mah battery in the Note 8. This upgrade to the battery might also come with faster wireless charging. It is rumored there is a new wireless charger launching with the Galaxy Note 9 that has a 12 volt 2.1 amp input instead of the 9 volt 1.67 amp input on the current one. This will be a lot faster than the current generation.
Renders of the Note 9 have also leaked earlier this month from OnLeaks. This shows the phone having the same size screen as the Note 8 at 6.3-inches. The phone is also a little bit thicker at 8.8mm, which makes it only about 0.2mm thicker. These renders also show horizontal camera arrangement with fingerprint scanner centered under it. This position should be better than that of the Note 8 which had a widely hated fingerprint scanner position. A source who has had a hands-on with the device has also said that the button placement is a little bit different than the Note 8 and that it should feel better in the hand.
The Note 9 will be launching with Bixby 2.0 and Android 8.1. Our source who had a hands-on with the device confirmed to us that the phone will launch with Android 8.1 and Samsung Experience 9.5. There are not many noticeable changes to the user interface but there are new features to the stylus. This was teased in the Galaxy Note 9 invitation. He is not able to tell us much about the new features without risking his access. Bixby 2.0 is supposed to have better natural language processing and increased speeds. The device is supposed to launch with the usual specs, a Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 depending on location, 6GBs of RAM, and 64GBs of storage. There are also rumors of an upgraded camera over the Galaxy S9 which already has an amazing camera.
All around this device seems to be a beast. I can not wait for it to launch in just over a month. It is definitely going to be a device I pick up.
