OnePlus has announced a new open beta version of OxygenOS for both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, specifically Open Beta 38 for the OnePlus 3 and Open Beta 29 for the OnePlus 3T. The update includes the June security patch. There really isn't much else to report with this update, other than some improvements to the OnePlus Switch app as well. You can read the full changelog below.
OxygenOS Open Beta 38/29 for the OnePlus 3/OnePlus 3T Changelog
There hasn't been much else added to the last few releases other than bug fixes and small feature additions. The last stable release we saw, OxygenOS 5.0.3, brought us face unlock but none of the other features offered by the recent Open Betas. Even aptX support is missing, something that was added many months ago in the open betas. Thankfully you can get support for that manually through a Magisk module.
Users can wait for the OTA update to reach their device via a staged rollout, use the Oxygen Updater app linked below to force the update via VPN, or they can sideload the update after downloading the full OTA files. Keep in mind that open betas may contain some bugs and should not be installed if you aren't willing to deal with any issues.
