Buying new Z3+, how to check production date

So, I'll buy new Z3+, how can I be sure it really is new, as it doesn't have the flip tape in sim tray, with production date as previous Z versions?
I'll perform all tests from test mode, but is there any way to see when the phone was really manufactured?
Is there anything else I should pay attention to?
