Dpi chang

I have my LG g4 rooted and of course boatload locked no dust on. Ron yada Yada but every time I try to change the dp in on this device is causes a bootloader and I have to start. All over from stock backup is there a safe range to what I can change it to or is there just not enough from the low lvl root. For the dpi to Be changed
